Port Blair, June 20: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,83,058 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,567 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years and 13,188 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 12 to 14 years. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 26801. 

Port Blair, June 20: Three positive cases have been detected, today of which, two were from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 12 flights with 1920 passengers arrived, out of which, 1619 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 248 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Port Blair, June 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded an audit of all power backup units of all mobile towers in remote areas of these Islands and repair the faulty power backup units as soon as possible for the convenience of the public.

Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to conduct recruitment exams for all vacant posts of Andaman & Nicobar Administration at Mayabunder and Car Nicobar Islands also along with Port Blair city so that youths of all the districts can appear in those recruitment exams, without facing the trouble to travel all the way to Port Blair.

Port Blair, June 19: The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) strongly disapproves the ‘Agnipath’ scheme that does disservice to India’s national interests. Professional armed forces cannot be raised by recruiting ‘soldiers on contract’ for a period of four years. This scheme, to save pension money, severely compromises the quality and efficiency of our professional armed forces.
