Port Blair, Aug. 17: Andaman and Nicobar Islands Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has initiated an annual calendar wherein Camps and Field visits will be held at each Panchayat in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. As part of this, camps were held at Calicut, Bambooflat-I and Mayabunder Panchayat  on Aug. 13 which was attended by around 150 persons. The endeavour of the Board is to register eligible construction worker as defined under Section 12 of Building and Other construction Worker, (RE&CS), Act 1996 and extend various welfare scheme to registered construction workers in the Islands.

Port Blair, Aug 17: As per the information received from the Pondicherry University, even semester examinations May 2022 (II, IV, VI and VIII Semester) of Four Years Integrated Programme in Teacher Education (ITEP) is scheduled from 29/08/2022 in Tagore Government College of Education, Port Blair. Online examination registration will be done between 17/08/2022 to 20/08/2022.

Port Blair, Aug. 17: Thirteen positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands, of which, 2 were from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 10 flights with 1340 passengers arrived, out of which, 1176 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 124 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Aug. 17: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,94,857 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23932 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 27, 788 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 180951.

Port Blair, Aug 16 The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration to re-engage 100 Security Guard personnel of Directorate of Health Services till finalization of the next tender process to safeguard the interest of the health institutions and also taking into consideration the welfare of the unemployed youths.
