Sri Vijaya Puram, March 12: In a continued effort to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations, the Andaman & Nicobar Traffic Police conducted intensive enforcement drives throughout February 2025. As a result, a total of 1,549 vehicles were challaned for various traffic violations. These include 161 cases of drunken driving were detected and penalized, reinforcing the department’s zero-tolerance policy towards driving under the influence. Also, 71 vehicles were challaned for the illegal use of tinted films, 46 riders were penalized for riding without helmets, emphasizing the importance of protective gear for two-wheeler users & 18 cases of illegal vehicle modifications were identified, and legal action has been initiated against the violators.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 12: On March 11, 2025, a contingent of 240 students from Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sri Vijaya Puram, along with ten teachers, visited the Garacharma Research Complex of ICAR-CIARI, Sri Vijaya Puram. The following day, March 12, 2025, an additional group of 300 students accompanied by 15 teachers also attended the complex. The primary aim of these visits was to offer students a comprehensive understanding of the research initiatives and technological advancements being undertaken at ICAR-CIARI.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 12: The ICDS Urban Project under the Directorate of Social Welfare has conducted a comprehensive training program with the help of Shri P Mahesh Kumar, State Coordinator, Poshan Tracker under National e-Governance Division (NeGD) on Poshan Tracker App for Anganwadi Workers. The training sessions were held in multiple groups from March 4 to 11, 2025 with an impressive participation of 207 Anganwadi Workers.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services promotes improved fodder cultivation in the field for the benefit of dairy farmers. Along with the propagation of nutritious fodder production, the Department focuses on conservation of fodder. Conservation of fodder is important to ensure steady and stable supply of nutritious food for livestock especially during the seasonal shortage of fodder.
