Port Blair, Sept. 6: Former Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has extended his congratulations to three officials of the A&N Administration Viz. Shri S. Raju, Shri Santosh Prakash and Shri Muneer Ahmed on their promotion to the DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Services) cadre. The promotion, issued via Order No. 14016/13/2023-UTS-II dated 29th August 2024 is being hailed as a significant achievement for the Islands' Administration.

DEO Urges School Management Committee Members to Play Active Role

Diglipur, Sept. 6: An Environment building Programme for the members of the School Management committees of the different Schools of Diglipur Educational zone, under “Samagra Shiksha” was held today at the Conference Hall of the Block Project Office Diglipur. With the aim to make the SMC members aware of the different interventions and facilities being given to the Children with special Needs in schools, the resource persons of the Block Project Office explained elaborately on the different aspects.

Car Nicobar, Sept. 6: Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Priyadarshini Auditorium, Car Nicobar with great zeal and enthusiasm yesterday. The Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, graced the occasion as the chief guest while the Secretary Tribal Council, Shri Martin Luther was the guest of honour. The event was attended by various Heads of Departments (HoDs), Retired Principals, Headmasters /Headmistress teachers & other staff of the Education Department of Car Nicobar.

Port Blair, Sept. 6: On 27.08.2024, Sh. Tarun Kumar Mondal, Hon’ble Chief Judicial Magistrate, North and Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder, delivered a judgment in the PS Kalighat case, vide FIR No. 21/2023 U/s 20(b)(ii) A of the NDPS Act, 2012, convicting the accused, Lila Debi. The court's decision to impose a sentence on Lila Debi reflects the seriousness of the offense and serves as a strong warning against such unacceptable acts. It sends a clear message to society that those who commit crimes will be held accountable and faces severe consequences for their actions.

Port Blair, Sept. 6: The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) in co-ordination with Blood Center, G.B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, supported Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Pahargaon, Port Blair to organize a blood donation camp on 40th foundation day of the Institute at DBRAIT, Port Blair on 06/09/2024. A total of 32 units of blood were donated by the voluntary donors.
