Port Blair, April 28: The Andaman Nicobar Chemist & Druggist Association (ANCDA) have expressed deep concern over the Central Government's proposal to permit the sale of Over-The-Counter (OTC) drugs without a license in India.

ANCDA President, Vivek Kumar Misra, and General Secretary, PK Anish emphasized that such a move would contravene existing drug laws, pharmacy regulations, and pertinent legal frameworks, including directives from the Honorable Supreme Court.

Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) Andaman & Nicobar State Organising Committee on 26th April, 2024 met Miss Zohra Banu, who stood 469 rank in the Civil Services Eamination-2023 of UPSC, at her residence at Calicut, South Andaman and congratulated her for her success in the country’s most difficult examination. Ayyappan honoured her with shawl and extended CPI (M)’s appreciation to her parents. He expressed the hope that Miss Zohra Banu will be an inspiration for the coming generation and for all those who aspire for cracking the Civil Service Examination, in the Islands.  

Digliur, April 28: As per the direction of the Chairman, District Health Society, N & M Andaman, the Community Health Centre, Diglipur in coordination with the Forest Department and District Health Society Unit, NMA organised a multi-speciality outreach RCH Health Camp at one of the remotest area/village, Gopalnagar 2 under Diglipur zone yesterday.

Dr. Arnold (Pain Specialist), Dr. Shipra Mistry (MO Ayurveda), Dr. Rahim (MO Homeo), Dr. Diksha (MO Dental) along with the other field staff from CHC Diglipur conducted the outreach camp. A large number of people including children and elderly persons availed the benefits of this health camp. 

Wimberlygunj, April 28: Crescent Public School, in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Education, diligently observed Jal Pakhwada from April 16th to April 30th, 2024. The fortnight-long event aimed to raise awareness about water conservation and sustainability among students from Class IX to Class XII.

As part of the Jal Pakhwada activities, students of Crescent Public School actively participated in an array of educational and community-centric events. Notably, on April 24th, 2024, students engaged in an Essay and Drawing competition held within the school premises, showcasing their creative talents and environmental awareness.
