Port Blair, Aug. 26: Two COVID positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands, of which, 1 incoming flight passenger who arrived here yesterday tested positive. Today, 10 flights with 1285 passengers arrived, out of which, 1155 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 83 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

CPI (M) has condoled the sudden and untimely demise of Shri N. Purushothaman Kutty, Retired Private Secretary in the ANIFPDC Ltd. at Bengaluru on 24th August, 2022.  He was 68 years and left behind his wife and a son. His body was cremated at his home town at Cherthala, Alappuzha District, Kerala on 26.8.2022.  CPI (M) conveys its deepest condolences to the members of late N. Purushothaman Kutty.

‘Radhanagar Beach’ Bestowed with Silver Award for ‘Best Beach Destination in India’ at Annual Outlook Traveller Award Ceremony

Port Blair, Aug. 25: Yet another feather has been added in the cap of A&N Administration as the most popular tourist destination-Radhanagar beach at Swaraj Dweep in A&N Islands has bagged the Silver Award for ‘Best Beach Destination in India’ at a glittering Outlook Traveller Awards-2022 ceremony held at The Leela Palace, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on August 24.   The Hon'ble Union Minister for Culture, Tourism & DONER, Shri G. Kishan Reddy who was the chief guest on the occasion presented the Awards under various categories to States & Union Territories.

Port Blair, Aug 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested for early release of compensation to the family members of the recent crocodile attack victim of Baratang Island.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that on 05th August, 2022 a resident of South Creek Village of Baratang Islands, Mrs. Shoba Ekka lost her life in a crocodile attack, when she was fishing in a nallah of Beach Dera area of Baratang Island, Middle Andaman.
