Port Blair, May 3: Continuing with the drive against encroachments over Government lands, the revenue officials of Ferrargunj Tehsil under South Andaman District carried out eviction drive at Guptapara village under Ferrargunj Tehsil. With the assistance of Patwari, Patwari Assistant, APWD labourers and Police personnel of P.S. Humprygunj, temporary structures erected over govt. land were dismantled/removed and an area measuring 1000 sq. mtrs was vacated and restored to its original status.

Port Blair, May 3: On 02/05/2024, inputs regarding an illegal bar operation were gathered by the PS Rangat police personnel, and the same information was reported at PS Rangat. Upon receiving the information, SHO PS Rangat, along with team consisting SI Abdul Sajid, PCs Hamza, Bashir and Suraj Mistry, immediately rushed to the bar in question, known as "Seashore Bar”. They discovered that the bar was already open before the authorized time of 11:00 AM and was serving alcohol to customers.

 

Port Blair, May 3: ‘World Homoeopathy Day’ is celebrated on 10th April, each year across the globe. This year, the day commemorated the 269th birth anniversary of the founder of Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann, a German Physician. As part of the observance, various activities/events like medical camps, awareness talks, TV/Radio shows etc. were conducted by Homoeopathy Units across the UT under the Health Department.

Port Blair, May 3: Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), New Delhi will be visiting ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair from 5th May to 7th May 2024.

During his visit on 05th May 2024, he shall be visiting ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair to witness the research demonstrations taken by scientists in agriculture and allied fields at Garacharma, Sippighat and Marine Hill Research Complex including its extension wing i.e ICAR-KVK, South Andaman.
