Port Blair, Feb. 29: A Booth Level Awareness Programme was organized by the Chief Electoral Officer, A & N Islands in collaboration with NYKS, Port Blair and Booth Level Officer in Part No. 171(2-3) of Ward No. 2 in the Auditorium of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Haddo, Port Blair under the supervision of Shri Arjun Sharma, DC, South Andaman with the assistance of Shri Thomas Vergese, AERO, Port Blair.

Port Blair, Feb. 29: A two days’ training on Navjaat Sishu Suraksha Karyakram (NSSK) was organized for the Nursing Officers (1st batch) on Feb. 27 & 28 in the Conference Hall, AYUSH Hospital, Port Blair. NSSK is a program aimed to train health personnel in basic newborn care and resuscitation. It has been launched to address care at birth of children i.e., prevention of hypothermia, prevention of infection, early initiation of breastfeeding and basic newborn resuscitation. Newborn care and resuscitation is an important starting point for any neonatal programme.

Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member of BJP and Former State President of BJP, expresses deep sorrow at the passing of Retired Dr. Govind Ram, aged 92 years, who departed for the heavenly abode today, on 29-02-2024, at G.B. Pant Hospital, Port Blair. Mr. Jolly extends heartfelt condolences and prays for the eternal peace of the departed soul, and for strength to be granted to his bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Port Blair, Feb. 29: The passengers/general public have been informed due to draft restriction at Hoogly River, Kolkata, the scheduled departure time of the vessel Nalanda from Port Blair to Kolkata via Mayabunder & Diglipur on 11.03.2024 at 2100 Hrs and her return voyage from Kolkata to Port Blair via Diglipur & Mayabunder on 16.03.2024 at 1400 Hrs has been rescheduled.

Port Blair, Feb 28: On 28.02.2024, the Andaman & Nicobar Police took a significant step towards strengthening cyber awareness and accessibility to law enforcement services by launching two ground-breaking initiatives: "Cyber Suraksha Sankalp Mission" and "Case Information SMS Service".

To commence the event, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS, DIGP (Intl.), A&N Islands, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and participants. He delivered a keynote address emphasizing the importance of cyber security and the initiatives being undertaken for the benefit of citizens in the A&N Islands. During the event, Sh. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Islands, alongside Sh. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, DGP, A&N Islands, and senior officers from A&N Administration, Andaman Nicobar Command, and Police, graced the occasion at Tagore Auditorium, Middle Point, Port Blair. Further during this event the Case Information SMS Service as well as the Cyber Suraksha Sankalp Mission was launched by Sh. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary, A&N Islands.
