Port Blair, March 7: In a significant move towards improving police efficiency, Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands inaugurated an important initiative towards by digitalization N&M Andaman district Police virtually today.

The DGP inaugurated E-Malkhana system across all Police Stations of the North & Middle Andaman District. The E-Malkhana system introduces digitalization to the management of case properties stored at malkhanas of Police Stations. With the implementation of this system, accessing details of case properties stored at the police malkhana becomes more efficient and convenient. Through the use of QR codes, authorized personnel can easily retrieve information about case properties with a simple scan. This streamlined approach not only improves accessibility but also enhances transparency and accountability in the handling of case properties.

Port Blair, March 7: In the intervening night of 28-29/02/2024, acting on a specific intelligence input received from reliable source, a Police team comprising of Inspr. Vishal Ram, SHO PS CCS, SI Parvash, Head Constable Sanjit Madhu, Sanjay Kujur, Constable K. Rajendran and Kabita Dutta of PS CCS conducted raid at parking area of Corbyn’s Cove and seized 346 grams of Ganja from the possession of one Sarfaraz Alam S/o Shri. Jahangir Alam (32) yrs R/o Corbyn’s Cove, Port Blair and he was arrested on the spot following due procedure. The accused Sarfaraz Alam is owning an auto and he drives it himself. He was also arrested in the PS Aberdeen in connection with a POCSO case in the year 2020 and a IPC case in the year 2022.

Inclusion is the ongoing process of creating a society where all women, regardless of background or socio-economic status, are respected and empowered to fulfill their potential. Under Prime Minister, Narendra Modiji's leadership, the Union Government is implementing various measures to enhance women's roles. A&N Islands is executing women welfare schemes, such as social security pensions under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, benefiting widows, destitute, elderly, divyangjan, and pregnant/lactating mothers.

Port Blair, March 7: In a significant move towards enhancing road safety and improving police efficiency with community engagement, Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands inaugurated an important initiative virtually today.

The initiative named as “Traffic Warden Scheme”, which aims to strengthen safety measures around schools during peak hours. To augments the Police staff, under this scheme, two volunteer teachers from each school has been identified to act as traffic wardens. These dedicated individuals have been provided with reflective traffic jackets and tasked to assist Police in monitoring & regulating traffic during school entry and exit times. By doing so, the scheme aims to ensure the safety of students and streamline traffic flow around school premises. A total of 44 schools of N&MA District have been identified as vulnerable and 88 volunteer teachers have been trained in basic traffic regulation and given on field demonstration.
