Port Blair, Feb 4: M.J Music Academy, Port Blair organised a Shabbir Kumar Night on Saturday 3rd Feb 2024 at the historic Andaman Club to pay tribute to the legendary singer. The occasion was graced by Shri Rajender Pall, BDO Ferrargunj and Prothrapur as the chief guest followed by Smti Zubaida Begum, Ex-Chairperson, PBMC as the guest of honour. Billiground, Feb 4: The Billiground Police demonstrated its unwavering commitment to justice by swiftly solving a hit and run blind case that occurred near Forest Saw Mill, Betapur. Within 10 hrs of the incident, the dedicated police team apprehended the prime suspect, providing much-needed closure to the victim and the community.

On 03/02/2024, the Billiground Police received information of a hit and run incident near Forest Saw Mill, Betapur. The victim was promptly taken to PHC Billiground for urgent medical attention by a kind Samaritan. According to the victim's statement, on 03/02/2024 at 2130 hrs, while walking near the forest saw mill in Betapur and engaged in a phone conversation, he was suddenly struck by a rashly driven Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle and the victim was unable to identify the motorcycle's registration number.

Rangat, Feb 4: D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M), A & N State Organising Committee during his visit to Rangat, met the fire victims of Rangat Bazar on 3rd February, 2024 and heard their grievances.  The fire victims have reported to Secretary, CPI (M) that no immediate relief has been given to them by the Administration. The shopkeepers who lost goods worth several lakhs of rupees have informed the Secretary, CPI (M) that they have lost everything in the fire accident. They requested the Secretary, CPI (M) to take up their issue with the Administration to help them restart their business. Ayyappan assured the fire victims that their hardship will be highlighted before the Administration.  

Port Blair, Feb 4: As part of the Animal Welfare Fortnight, in a collaborative effort the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services alongwith the Rotary Club of Port Blair and students of JNRM organised a program dedicated to feeding stray animals. In this initiative, 50 stray animals (Dogs, Cattle) in and around Port Blair were fed with biscuits, bread and grains. Moreover, 20 reflective dog collars were affixed to stray dogs to mitigate the risk of road accident, particularly during night time. This joint endeavor not only sought to meet the immediate needs of stray animals but also conveyed a societal message promoting compassion towards them.
