Mayabunder, April 21: An Ayushman Arogya Shivir was conducted yesterday at the Gram Panchayat Hall, Mayabunder. During the shivir, a range of healthcare services was provided to the beneficiaries, including screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Tuberculosis (TB), along with General OPD services. A comprehensive health awareness session was also organized, focusing on key public health issues such as Tuberculosis, HPV vaccination, and general health promotion.
As part of the 100 Days Campaign under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0, a Jan Bhagidari event was conducted to strengthen community participation and enhance awareness among the general public, including PRI members. A total of 26 beneficiaries attended the camp, all of whom availed healthcare services.
During the camp, 19 chest X-rays were conducted using a handheld X-ray device, out of which, 5 cases showed abnormal findings. Additionally, 17 individuals were identified for sputum examination for further diagnostic evaluation. The entire activity was carried out under the leadership of Dr. Christina Rossity, District TB Officer, North & Middle Andaman, with the dedicated support of the healthcare team from Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder.
