
Sri Vijaya Puram, April 22: Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) accompanied by Mrs Shashi Tripathi, President Naval Wives Welfare Association (NWWA) visited Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) from 21 to 22 April 2026. Upon arrival at Sri Vijaya Puram, CNS was received by Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, PVSM, AVSM, NM Commander-in-Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) and Mrs Reyman Kochhar, Regional President DWWA. The CNS was accorded a Joint Service Guard of Honour.
CNS interacted with CINCAN and senior officers of the Joint Service Command and was briefed on ongoing operational activities and initiatives and engaged in discussions on enhancing operational synergy, readiness and integration. He also interacted with personnel of ANC and commended them for their professionalism, dedication and high state of operational readiness and lauded the unwavering commitment of Joint Service personnel in safeguarding the nation’s maritime frontiers
In parallel engagements, Mrs Shashi Tripathi interacted with members of Defence Wives Welfare Association (DWWA) and appreciated their continued commitment towards welfare and community support initiatives.
During the visit, CNS reiterated the critical importance of jointmanship and seamless integration among Services in safeguarding national interests in strategically vital Andaman and Nicobar region and underscored the pivotal role of ANC in strengthening India’s maritime security.
