Car Nicobar, April 23: The valedictory function of 8th Poshan Pakhwada under Poshan 2.0 was successfully conducted today at Community Hall Perka Car Nicobar, by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Tribal Project, Car Nicobar, marking the culmination of activities held across Anganwadi Centres in Nicobar District from 9th April to 23rd April, 2026.
The programme was graced by Shri K.Padma Kumar (IPS Retd.), Special Rapporteur, National Human Rights Commission, as the chief guest, and Dr. Naveen Kumar, Assistant Commissioner, Car Nicobar, as the guest of honour.
During the period from 9th to 22nd April 2026, various activities were conducted across Anganwadi Centres to promote holistic development of children. In his address, the chief guest highlighted the importance of Poshan Pakhwada and created awareness among beneficiaries and the public about proper nutrition, health, and child development. The guest of honour spoke about the significance of the programme. Earlier, Smti. Sheela Kar, CDPO, welcomed the gathering.
As part of the valedictory function, the chief guest and others visited the ECCE and Food Stalls, showcasing early childhood learning practices and nutritious Traditional food at that Programme.
On the occasion, Nutrition Kits were distributed to Pregnant and Lactating Mothers and Baby Kits to new born girl child under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative to support better nutrition and care for mothers and children.
