Sri Vijaya Puram, April 24: The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected Chairperson of SVPMC, Smt. Vasantha, Councillor of Ward No. 12 today in a solemn function held at the Council’s Conference Hall.
Smt. Vasantha has been elected as the Chairperson of Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council for the fifth year of the current tenure (2022–2027), following the Council meeting held on 24.04.2026.
The ceremony was attended by officials of the District Administration, councillors and staff of the Municipal Council. The newly elected Chairperson pledged to uphold the Constitution and discharge duties with integrity and dedication.
The Deputy Commissioner congratulated the Chairperson and expressed confidence in strengthening civic administration and public service delivery in Sri Vijaya Puram.
