
Shivapuram, April 30: In a proactive initiative to strengthen water security, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram organized an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) programme today at Government Middle School, Padmanabhapuram, Betapur. The programme aimed to sensitize local youth and community members on the urgent need for sustainable water management practices.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local leaders, technical experts, faculty, and students, reflecting a strong collective commitment to water conservation. Shri Venkateswar Rao, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Shivapuram was present on the occasion. Smti Vijayalaxmi, Junior Engineer, APWD Betapur and Shri Nani Gopal Das, Headmaster of GMS Padmanabhapuram were also present.
The programme featured a series of informative and action-oriented sessions. Shri Venkateswar Rao delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the collective responsibility of citizens to protect water resources and prevent wastage.
An interactive question-and-answer session followed, allowing students to raise concerns about local water challenges and engage in meaningful discussions, fostering community-driven solutions.
The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for competitions organized under the theme ‘Water Conservation.’ The participating students were encouraged to act as ambassadors of change by spreading awareness about water conservation within their communities.
