
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 4: The team of Police Station Pahargaon has once again demonstrated its commitment in the ongoing fight against drugs, upholding a zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related offenses. The police team successfully seized 03 Cannabis (Ganja) plants and arrested one individual under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
On 01/05/2026, Police Station Pahargaon received credible information that Tarapada Raul, a shuttering Mistry had cultivated cannabis plants near his rented room at Sagartat Colony, Garacharma Basti. Acting swiftly, a raiding team was constituted, comprising of Inspr. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO PS Pahargaon alongwith SIs Manish Narayan, Animesh Ram, HCs Santosh Lal, K. Jayaraj & PC C. Samsudeen. The team proceeded to Sagartat Colony and conducted search in the presence of two independent witnesses. During search, three cannabis plants were found concealed in a plastic pot in the bushes in front of Tarapada Raul’s rented room. All three plants were seized and their total weight was measured 37 grams.
Accused Tarapada Raul S/o Late Gurupada Raul (34 yrs) R/o Gurugram, East Mednipur, West Bengal presently residing at Sagartat Colony, Garacharma Basti was arrested on the spot after observing all legal formalities.
The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of Inspector. Sahil Shamsuddin, SHO PS Pahargaon under the command of Shri. Deependra Singh, SDPO South Andaman and overall supervision of Smti Niyati Mittal, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
