Swaraj Dweep, May 4: The District Administration, South Andaman organized a Public Grievances Meeting-cum-Interaction, aimed at addressing the grievances of local residents. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman at Conference Hall Dolphin Resort, Swaraj Dweep. The meeting witnessed active participation from PRI representatives, including the Pradhan of Govinda Nagar and Shyam Nagar, along with Ward Members and Panchayat Samiti Members. Officials from the Revenue Department and APWD were also present.
The interaction provided a constructive platform for deliberation on key developmental issues and public grievances pertaining to Swaraj Dweep. The following matters were discussed in detail:
1. Construction of road at Kalapathar and improvement of State Highway.
2. Holistic development of Kalapathar Beach and nearby areas.
3. Supply of treated drinking water to Vijay Nagar households.
4. Review of PMGSY roads and pending MPLADS road at Govinda Nagar.
5. Enforcement of SLWM rules and accountability of hotels.
6. Co-location of AWWs near schools/pre-primary institutions.
7. Review of electrification under PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
8. Review of issues under PMAY and VB G RAM G.
The District Administration reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive growth, responsive governance and the holistic development of Swaraj Dweep, ensuring that public concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
