Comprehensive Range of Assistive Aids and Appliances Readily Available for Beneficiaries at CRC A&N Islands

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 6: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), A&N Islands, through its Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Vayoshri Kendra (PMD-VK) of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), has informed the general public that a comprehensive range of assistive aids and appliances is now readily available for eligible beneficiaries under the ADIP Scheme and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY).

This initiative of CRC, A&N Islands aims to significantly enhance the quality of life of Divyangjan (persons with disabilities) and senior citizens by promoting mobility, accessibility, communication, education, and independent living across the Islands.

The Centre is well-stocked with essential assistive devices, including:

• Wheelchairs (folding, commode, and Saathi models)

• Foldable walkers and rollators with brakes

• Walking sticks, adjustable canes, tripod and tetrapod supports

• Crutches (elbow and axilla types)

• Cervical collars, spinal supports, knee braces, and lumbar belts

• Silicon foam cushions and commode chairs 

• Digital and programmable BTE hearing aids

• Sugamya canes for visually impaired persons

• Braille slates, Braille kits, and visually impaired kits

• Educational TLM kits for early intervention to secondary level

• Smartphones with screen reader facility for students with 100% blindness

All eligible beneficiaries have been encouraged to visit the PMD-VK Centre located at CRC, Brookshabad, with the necessary documents to avail these aids and appliances under the respective schemes.

Eligibility Criteria

• Under ADIP Scheme:

• Minimum 40% disability

• Valid UDID Card / Enrolment Number along with disability certificate

• Aadhaar Card

• Monthly income not exceeding Rs. 22,500

• Under RVY Scheme:

• Indian citizens aged 60 years and above

• Aadhaar Card

• Monthly income not exceeding Rs.15,000

The Composite Regional Centre (CRC), A&N Islands urges all eligible individuals to take full advantage of this opportunity at the earliest. This initiative reflects the Centre’s continued commitment towards building an inclusive and accessible society where no Divyang is left behind. In this regard, it is requested all eligible beneficiaries to visit CRC, Brookshabad Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm.
