Baratang, May 6: To promote safety awareness among tourists, firefighters from Fire Station Baratang conducted a focused safety demonstration at the boarding point of Nilambur Jetty, Baratang.
During the programme, tourists were sensitized through practical demonstrations on the correct use of life jackets and lifebuoys, along with a brief session on key SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) principles, including muster procedures and emergency signals. They were also guided on actions to be taken during drowning or fire emergencies, and apprised of essential Do’s and Don’ts for ensuring safety onboard.
The programme received an encouraging response, with more than 100 tourists and boat crew members actively participating in the awareness initiative.
