
Campbell Bay, May 6: As part of the ongoing 100 Days Campaign under the Ayushman Arogya Shivir initiative, hard area outreach activities were successfully conducted yesterday at Makachua Village, Campbell Bay, for the vulnerable population residing in a remote and hard-to-reach area. The health team travelled by boat and dinghy to ensure healthcare services reached the beneficiaries and the activity was carried out under the guidance of Dr. Meena Nasir, Medical Officer In-Charge, PHC Campbell Bay.
During the outreach programme, chest X-ray screening was conducted using a handheld X-ray machine for early detection of Tuberculosis among vulnerable populations. A total of 45 individuals participated in the screening activity, including 20 males and 25 females, and all underwent chest X-ray screening.
The initiative reflects the commitment of the Health Department towards ensuring accessible healthcare services and strengthening active TB case finding in remote and underserved areas of Nicobar district.
