
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 10: Dr. S. Radhakrishnan District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and the State Institute of Education (SIE), Sri Vijaya Puram, successfully concluded the first phase of the 05-Day Capacity Building Training Programme on “Competency-Based Experiential Learning” for Primary School Teachers (PSTs), Graduate Trained Teachers (GTTs), and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration on 08th May, 2026 at various venues in Sri Vijaya Puram.
A total of 205 Primary School Teachers (PSTs) and 236 Graduate Trained Teachers (GTTs) and Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) from all the nine Educational Zones participated in the first phase of the training programme conducted at different venues across Sri Vijaya Puram.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Smti. Sangeeta Chand, Principal, SIE as the chief guest appreciated the efforts of DIET and SIE in organizing an intensive and meaningful training programme aimed at strengthening competency-based and experiential teaching practices among teachers.
The programme featured valuable academic sessions conducted by eminent Resource Persons from the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar, and Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Nellore & Mysore and CBSE. The experts shared their insights on competency-based education, experiential learning methodologies, classroom engagement techniques, and innovative pedagogical practices.
The participants expressed their appreciation for the enriching sessions, practical demonstrations, and interactive activities conducted during the training programme, which significantly enhanced their professional competencies and classroom teaching approaches.
