A&N Police Hosts NATGRID Workshop to Strengthen Intelligence Coordination and Investigation Capabilities

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 12: A one-day Workshop-cum-Training Programme on NATGRID Solutions was organized by the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, for officers of Andaman & Nicobar Police and other investigating agencies on 11/05/2026 at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Police Training Institute (NSCBPTI), Sri Vijaya Puram.

The programme was graced by the presence of Shri. Hirdesh Kumar, IAS, CEO, NATGRID, along with Shri. Murlidhar Mishra and Shri. Anup Kumar. Senior officers of Andaman & Nicobar Police and representatives from other investigating agencies also attended the programme.

The training programme was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri. Hirdesh Kumar, IAS in the presence of senior officers of A&N Police, including Ms. Sindhu Pillai, IPS, ADGP, A&N Islands, Dr. A. Koan, IPS, DIGP (Training), and other senior officers.

The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Smti. Sindhu Pillai, IPS, ADGP, who warmly welcomed the NATGRID delegation and highlighted the importance of modern intelligence-sharing mechanisms and technological integration in strengthening national security and investigation capabilities.

During the programme, Shri. Hirdesh Kumar, IAS delivered a brief introduction on NATGRID and emphasized the significance of intelligence coordination and technology-driven investigation systems in enhancing internal security. This was followed by detailed presentations and live demonstrations by the NATGRID team on the utilization of NATGRID solutions and platforms.

A total of 52 officers of various ranks from Andaman & Nicobar Police, along with officials from agencies such as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Intelligence Bureau (IB), attended the programme physically at NSCBPTI.

In addition, around 147 police personnel from all 26 Police Stations of A&N Police participated through virtual mode.

The workshop provided an important platform for enhancing professional skills, inter-agency coordination, and understanding of modern intelligence and investigation systems among the participating officers.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Smti. Suma Madda, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID).

The entire programme was organized by Smti. Suma Madda, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID)/Vice Principal, NSCBPTI under the overall supervision of the Principal, NSCBPTI.

The Andaman & Nicobar Police expressed sincere gratitude to NATGRID for conducting the valuable training programme and reaffirmed its commitment towards strengthening investigative efficiency and technological capabilities of police personnel.
