Sri Vijaya Puram, May 15: To provide marketing support to the farmers of A & N Islands for sale of farmer’s agriculture products, Farmers’ Corner is established and functional at the Agriculture Departmental ‘Sale Outlet -VATIKA-Agriculture-Store’ from the premises of Sagarika Emporium, Udyog Parisar at Middle Point. Agricultural products ranging from virgin coconut oil, local spices-cinnamon, black pepper, clove, nutmeg, mace, GI tagged traditional rice, honey etc. are being sold from the outlet to public and tourist.
The objective is to have a one stop for sale of various departmental farm produce, value added products as well as farmers agriculture produce.
Farmers can keep their produce for sale in this corner free of cost. The interested farmers will have to enlist/register themselves with the Department of Agriculture mentioning the item wise quantity of produce available for sale. For enlistment/registration, farmers have to submit application in the prescribed format along with details of contact number, Islander card, Aadhaar No., Bank Account no. FSSAI registration /License etc. In case of processed products, FSSAI registration /license are a must. No Registration fees are levied on them for registration. The amount of the sale proceed will be directly deposited in to the account of farmers.
