Sri Vijaya Puram, June 11: The Directorate of Transport, A & N Administration will be conducting a series of Integrated Road Safety & Transport Service Outreach Programmes across rural Panchayats in South Andaman District from June to October, 2025, with the objective of promoting road safety awareness and facilitating delivery of essential transport services to the doorsteps of rural citizens.
These camps will feature:
•Awareness sessions on road safety, including use of helmets and seat belts, risks of over-speeding and drunken driving, and pedestrian safety.
•Sensitization drives by the Police and Health Departments.
•Live demonstrations on trauma care and basic first aid.
•Transport services on-site, including:
•Learner’s License testing and issuance
•Driving License renewal
•Road tax collection
•Registration Certificate services
•Vehicle permit assistance
•Public grievance redressal and more
The general public have been encouraged to participate and avail these services without visiting Central Offices.
The Directorate of Transport solicits the cooperation of all local residents, stakeholders, and Panchayati Raj Institutions to ensure the success of this initiative.
