Kadamtala, May 22: In a commendable act of bravery and prompt response on the evening of 21.05.2026, PMF personnel HC(G) K. Jagdeswar Rao and HG(V) Saunkeep Baroi successfully rescued an elderly woman who was found floating unconscious near Uttara Jetty, Kadamtala.
Upon receiving the information, the PMF personnel swiftly rushed to the spot and pulled the woman out of the seawater. Displaying exceptional presence of mind, they administered emergency first aid and made all possible efforts to revive her on the spot. Subsequently, she was immediately shifted to PHC Kadamtala for urgent medical treatment. Owing to the timely intervention and dedicated efforts of the PMF personnel, she regained normal breathing and is presently undergoing treatment at PHC Kadamtala.
The swift and life-saving action of the PMF staff has been widely appreciated by the local public and reflects the commitment of Andaman & Nicobar Police towards public safety and humanitarian service.
