
Mayabunder, June 11: Shri TSG Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee ANTCC, undertook an extensive 03-day visit to several flood-affected areas across North and Middle Andaman, from Kadamtala to Mayabunder, to assess the damage caused by recent heavy rains and flooding.
During the visit, Shri Bhasker interacted with affected families, visited inundated households, and heard firsthand accounts of the hardships faced by residents. He assured the affected people that the Congress party stands firmly with them during this difficult period and would raise their concerns before the appropriate authorities.
As part of the visit, Shri Bhasker also met the Assistant Commissioner of Rangat and held detailed discussions on immediate relief measures, rehabilitation efforts, and the need for timely assistance to families that have suffered losses due to the floods. He stressed the importance of ensuring that all affected households receive adequate support and compensation at the earliest.
Expressing concern over the recurring impact of heavy rains in the region, Shri Bhasker emphasized the need for a comprehensive long-term strategy to mitigate flood-related risks. He urged the administration to focus on strengthening drainage systems, improving water flow channels, and implementing sustainable infrastructure measures to prevent similar situations in the future.
The visit covered several affected villages and settlements between Kadamtala and Mayabunder, where Shri Bhasker reviewed the ground situation and interacted with local residents, PRI members, and community leaders regarding the challenges arising from the recent floods.
