Sri Vijaya Puram, June 16: WCM Kashthuri Bhai R continued her impressive run of form by securing 5th place in the Main Category at the 1st Chengalpattu International FIDE Rated Open Chess Tournament, held from 10th to 14th June 2026 in Tambaram, Tamil Nadu.
Competing against a strong field of players from across the country, Kashthuri displayed remarkable consistency throughout the tournament. She scored an impressive 7 points from 9 rounds, to finish fifth in the tournament and was awarded a cash prize of ₹7,000 for her outstanding performance.
