DSS Implements Online Facility for Monthly Pass Renewal and Daily Ticket Booking

Sri Vijaya Puram, June 17: The Directorate of Shipping Services, A&N Administration, has implemented the online facility for monthly pass renewal and daily ticket booking in the harbour sector, significantly enhancing convenience and accessibility for ferry passengers.

The digital initiative has enabled commuters to avail ticketing services from the comfort of their homes or workplaces, reducing the need to visit ticketing counters and minimizing waiting time. The online platform has particularly benefited regular commuters by providing a faster, transparent, and hassle-free ticketing experience.

Since the introduction of the facility, a total of 11,126 monthly pass renewals have been processed online, reflecting the widespread adoption of the service by regular harbour sector passengers. Further, 738 daily trip tickets have been issued through the online platform, demonstrating growing public confidence in digital ticketing services.

The online facility has contributed to improved passenger convenience, reduced crowding at ticketing counters, and promoted efficient service delivery. The initiative forms part of the Directorate’s continued efforts to leverage technology for enhancing public services and ensuring a seamless travel experience for commuters in the harbour sector.
