Rangat, July 2: The Middle Andaman Forest Division, Rangat celebrated the inauguration ceremony of the 77th Van Mahotsav, 2026, a month-long tree planting festival, with great enthusiasm and commitment to conserve the forests of the Islands. The celebration began with tree planting program under the aegis of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
The event included an inaugural function & mass tree planting program in the premises of the St. Xavier Middle School, Rangat today with the active participation of Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman and about 150 Nos. of school students, teachers, PRI Members and local Head of Offices. Shri. Vikas Yadav, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman Division, highlighted the importance of forests and how to conserve it without depleting its natural resources.
