Swaraj Dweep, July 3: As part of the ongoing Drug Awareness Week and the nationwide campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat, Khushhaal Bharat”, South Andaman Police continued its sustained drive against drug trafficking by taking prompt action on credible intelligence.
On 02.07.2026, a police team of PS Swaraj Dweep, under the supervision of the SDPO, Swaraj Dweep conducted a raid near the Helipad Parking area in the presence of a Gazetted Officer and independent witnesses. During the operation, one person was apprehended with approximately 200 grams of illicit ganja and an electronic weighing machine. The contraband was seized after observing all mandatory legal formalities and accused was arrested.
A case has been registered at PS Swaraj Dweep under Section 20(b)(ii)(A) NDPS Act, 1985 and further investigation is in progress to identify others involved in the supply chain.
