AH&VS Invites Applications for Admission to Short-Term Training Course on Livestock Green Management Promoter

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 7: The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to a short-term training course for 3-4 Months (480 Hours) on Livestock Green Management Promoter at the Animal Husbandry Training Institute (AHTI), Polyclinic, Livestock Farm Complex, Dollygunj, under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0.

The course is aligned to NSQF Level 5 and has been designed to develop skilled professionals who can promote sustainable, eco-friendly, and climate-resilient livestock farming practices in the Islands. The initial capacity for the current batch is 15 candidates only.

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates fulfilling any of the following criteria are eligible to apply:

•UG Diploma or equivalent in Veterinary Sciences/Animal Husbandry/Dairy Technology, or

•Completed 2nd year of 2-year diploma after 12th in Veterinary Sciences/Animal Husbandry/Dairy Technology, or

•UG Certificate with 1.5 years of experience in Agriculture and allied sectors, or

•12th Grade Pass with 3 years of experience in Agriculture and allied sectors, or

•Previous relevant NSQF Level 4.5 qualification with 1.5 years of experience in Agriculture and allied sectors, or

•Previous relevant NSQF Level 4 qualification with 3 years of experience in Agriculture and allied sectors.

The course aims to equip learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to efficiently promote green and sustainable management practices in livestock farming. By the end of the programme, participants will be trained in environmentally responsible livestock management techniques, including sustainable animal husbandry practices, waste management, use of renewable energy in farms, carbon footprint assessment, and advising farmers on eco-friendly livestock products. These skills will not only contribute to sustainable agriculture and rural livelihood development but also support the larger goal of climate-resilient farming in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The Animal Husbandry Training Institute, Dollygunj, is a Government Institution under the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, strategically located to serve the skill development needs of youth in remote areas. The centre is fully equipped with the necessary infrastructure to deliver NSQF-compliant training aligned with both regional requirements and national priorities.

All interested candidates possessing the requisite educational qualification are requested to contact SVO, Animal Husbandry Training Institute (AHTI), Polyclinic, Dollygunj along with their Bio-Data and enrol for the course on or before 17th July, 2026.
