Sri Vijaya Puram, July 9: The Tourism Department in collaboration with the allied departments of the Administration has been organizing the Monsoon Food & Culture Festival annually to celebrate the unique charm of the monsoon season. Over the years, this vibrant festival has emerged as one of the most eagerly awaited events in the Islands, showcasing the region’s rich culinary traditions, cultural performances, handicrafts, and locally produced goods, while providing a dynamic platform for local entrepreneurs, artisans, Self Help Groups (SHGs), and tourism stakeholders. The 1st Edition of the Monsoon Food & Culture Festival–2026, held from 26th to 28th June 2026, received an overwhelming response from local residents, food entrepreneurs, SHGs, artisans, and various stakeholders, reaffirming the festival’s popularity and success. Building on this success and as per the approved Tourism Calendar of Events 2026–27, the Department of Tourism, Andaman & Nicobar Administration is organizing the 2nd Edition of the Monsoon Food & Culture Festival–2026 (#MonsoonMagic2026) from 17th to 19th July, 2026 at the ITF Ground, Sri Vijaya Puram, from 4 PM onwards.
To further enhance participation and promote Island-based entrepreneurship, the Department warmly invites hoteliers, restaurant owners, café owner, food entrepreneurs, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, farmers, start-ups, home chefs and local entrepreneurs to be part of this grand celebration by setting up stalls showcasing Island specialties. These include indigenous cuisine, seafood delicacies, organic and farm-fresh produce, traditional recipes, handmade crafts, eco-friendly products, and innovative culinary creations that reflect the unique identity of the Islands. In addition, the Department welcomes volunteers, artists and cultural groups voluntarily to showcase their talent through live music, dance performances, poetry recitations, storytelling, skits, and instrumental performances thereby adding vibrancy to the festival atmosphere. Interested participants may submit their applications for stall allotment and participation to the Operational Section, Directorate of IP&T, or via email at andamantourismgh@gmail.com on or before 14th July, 2026 (11:00 AM). Stall allotment will be finalized on the same day to ensure smooth preparations.
