Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10: Union Territory Health Mission, A&N Islands in association with Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration is going to observe World Population Day tomorrow (July 11) in A&N Islands along with rest of the country to emphasize the importance of healthy timing and spacing of birth for the health and wellbeing of mother and child. The slogan of World Population Day for this year is: ‘Jab Bachon Mein Ho Sahi Antral, Pariwar Bane Swasth Aur Khushal’.
In order to mark the occasion, Health Department will organize awareness programme throughout A&N Islands involving PRIs, Paramedical Personnel, AWWs and ASHAs to create awareness among the general public about Family Planning Services. The programmes will focus on creating awareness among the general public about the importance of family planning services, informed reproductive choices, and the benefits of healthy birth spacing for the overall well-being of families and community.
As part of the observance, a Parivar Vikas Mela will be organised at Community Hall Guptapara tomorrow (July 11) from 10 AM onwards to create awareness among the general public.
