
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10: A two-day musical and cultural evening titled ‘Swaranjali’ commenced today with its inauguration at the auditorium of Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School. Organised by the Department of Arts & Culture, A&N Administration as part of the Monsoon celebrations, the event was inaugurated by the Director of Arts & Culture, Ms. Priyanka Kumari, as the chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Director said that the Department is organising the two-day musical programme as part of the series of events being conducted by various Departments under the Tourism Calendar. She stated that the event serves the dual purpose of providing quality entertainment to the general public and visitors while also offering a platform for the budding artistes of the Islands to showcase their talents in the fields of music and dance. She urged the public to attend the cultural evenings over the weekend and appreciate the efforts and performances of the local artistes.
The inaugural evening featured a vibrant series of cultural performances. The programme began with a patriotic song presented by the Soul Musical Association, followed by captivating dance performances by the Jhankar Dance Group and Nritya Academy. The artistes representing various cultural organisations enthralled the audience with their colourful performances and artistic renditions. The evening concluded with an energetic live band performance by the Soul Musical Association, which received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
The Directorate of Arts & Culture has invited the general public to attend and enjoy this cultural extravaganza with their family and friends. The second day of the event will be held at 5.30 p.m. on July 11 at the auditorium of Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School.
