STS Bus Accident: N&M District Administration Continues to Monitor the Condition of Injured Passengers

Mayabunder, July 10: Following the unfortunate STS bus accident that occurred yesterday near Kishorinagar on the Diglipur–Paschimsagar route, the District Administration, N&M Andaman continued to monitor the condition of the injured passengers. The accident involved 58 passengers, including school students and civilians, of whom 28 sustained injuries. Twenty-five injured persons were admitted to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Diglipur, while three students with minor injuries were treated and discharged from PHC Kishorinagar. One student requiring specialized ENT treatment has been referred to G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram, and has been airlifted today.

The Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman visited the Sub-District Hospital, Diglipur to personally review the condition of the injured patients. The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the admitted patients, their family members and the attending medical officers and directed the Health Department to ensure that all patients receive the best possible medical care and that no inconvenience is caused in their treatment. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the overall arrangements made by the District Administration in response to the accident.
