Naval Ships to be Deployed for Transportation of LPG Cylinders

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 10: The residents of Katchal Island have been informed that, due to unavoidable logistical constraints and non-availability of regular shipping arrangements, the supply of domestic LPG cylinders to the Island has been temporarily affected.
The Administration is aware of the difficulties being faced by the residents and is taking all necessary steps on priority to restore the LPG supply in the Island. In this regard, alternate arrangements are being explored for transportation of filled domestic LPG cylinders to Katchal Island so as to ensure early replenishment of LPG stocks.
As an immediate measure, assistance of the Indian Navy has been sought for transportation of LPG cylinders to Katchal Island. Accordingly, a Naval vessel is expected to transport and dispatch filled domestic LPG cylinders from Sri Vijaya Puram preferably within the next 06 days, which will help in restoring the LPG supply and meeting the immediate requirements of the residents.
The residents of Katchal Island are requested to extend their cooperation and support during this period. The Administration remains committed to ensuring the availability of this essential commodity and is making all possible efforts to normalize the supply at the earliest.
