Sri Vijaya Puram, July 22: Communist Party of India (Marxist) has organized a mass demonstration in front of the Municipal Council, Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair today (22.07.2026) in support of the agitation by students in Delhi demanding resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and to protest the brutal lathicharge on agitating students. A large number of party members and sympathisers including SFI members also joined the mass demonstration.
Inaugurating the mass demonstration, D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee blamed the central government for the paper leaks occurred several times during the last one decade and said that no action has been taken to stop the examination-related irregularities. He demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan immediately. He also criticized the brutal assault on the students and protesting activists in Delhi during the last two days.
D. Laxman Rao, State Secretariat Member, B. Chandrachoodan, General Secretary, CITU State Committee, Abdul Warish, Convener, SFI A & N State Organising Committee and DYFI leader G. Vijay also addressed the participants in the programme. P. Sathyapal, Secretary, CPI (M) Port Blair City Area Committee proposed vote of thanks.
