Sri Vijaya Puram, July 26: The Deputy Commissioner (South Andaman) in collaboration with the SP (South Andaman), Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Directorate of Education and MY Bharat will be organizing DC SP Cup Inter-Village Volleyball Championship 2026 for Men and Women under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan from 27th July to 8th August, 2026 at Ferrargunj Panchayat, Sri Vijaya Puram, Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep and Little Andaman. Operating under the guiding visions of “Together for a Better Tomorrow” and “Our District, Our Pride,” the event serve as a dynamic platform for driving awareness and actionable change across critical social, environmental, and public health domains.
The Cup leverages grassroots enthusiasm to advance key policy goals through a three-pillared framework: SWACHH (A Cleaner District), SWASTH (A Healthier Community), and SAKSHAM (A Capable Citizenry) District.
The championship marks a historic milestone as, for the first time in the history of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a South Andaman District-Level Inter-Panchayat Volleyball Championship is being organized by the District Administration in coordination with the Departments of Sports, Education, and Rural Development under the Nasha Mukti Abhiyan. The initiative reflects the District Administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting sports, encouraging a healthy and drug-free lifestyle, and strengthening community participation across South Andaman.
A total of 31 teams will be participating in the championship, comprising 19 teams from Ferrargunj Panchayat, 3 teams from Sri Vijaya Puram, 2 teams from Swaraj Dweep, 1 team from Shaheed Dweep, and 6 teams from Little Andaman, reflecting extensive participation from across South Andaman.
The winning teams will be awarded cash prizes viz. First Prize: Rs. 12,000/- & Second Prize: Rs. 6,000/-.
