Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 5: The Anti-Drug Squad of JNRM organized an awareness programme on ‘Say ‘No’ to Narcotic Drugs’ at the college lecture gallery to educate students about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
Presiding over the programme, Principal, JNRM, Dr. Pearl Devdas urged students to stay away from drugs and focus on building a meaningful future. She encouraged them to channel their energy into positive and creative activities instead of succumbing to harmful habits.
The keynote address was delivered by Commandant Shri Parag Chaturvedi, HQ SSB (Assam), who presented facts and statistics on the growing drug menace in India and explained the country’s vulnerability to drug trafficking due to its geographical location between the ‘Golden Triangle’ and the ‘Golden Crescent.’
The programme also included a video presentation on the consequences of drug abuse, an interactive session with students, and a collective pledge led by the principal to remain drug-free. Welcoming the gathering, Dr. K. V. Ramana Murthy, Associate Professor and Chairman of the Anti-Drug Squad, stressed that healthy youth are the foundation of a strong nation.
