
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 10: The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Sports Training Centre (STC), Sri Vijaya Puram athletes win one Silver & two Bronze Medals athletes at the 27th Sub-Junior National Rowing Championship 2026, organized by the Rowing Federation of India from 05 to 09 August, 2026 at Rabindra Sarobar Lake, Kolkata.
Competing against strong and talented rowers from various States and Union Territories across the country, the SAI residential athletes representing Andaman & Nicobar Islands displayed exceptional skill, determination, teamwork and sporting spirit, securing three medals — one Silver and two Bronze — at the national level. Details of Medal-Winning Performances:
1. Silver – Youth Junior Girls Double Scull (YJG2X) – Carelyne & Sunidhi Mondal
2. Bronze – Sub-Junior Girls Coxless Pair (SJG2-) – Zeeya Victor & P. Anu
3. Bronze – Sub-Junior Girls Coxless Four (SJG4-) – Lenity, Naw Suzun, Anita Bai & Sanvi Pandey
The achievement is a result of the dedication, discipline and sustained efforts of the athletes, along with the guidance of their Coaches Shri Jenil Krishnan, Shri Justin J Thomas and Shri Manish Kr Tiwari and continuous support & guidance of Shri Mohammed Sadique, Centre In-charge, SAI STC Sri Vijaya Puram. The success of these young rowers has once again put Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the national rowing map and serves as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the Islands.
