Meticulous Police Investigation Leads to Conviction in Two Temple Theft Cases

Mayabunder, Aug 13: On 11.08.2026, the Hon’ble JMFC, Mayabunder, convicted and sentenced the accused involved in two temple theft cases registered at PS Rangat and PS Kadamtala.

The same accused was involved in the theft of donation money from the donation boxes of Hanuman Temple, Rangat, and Hari Mandir, Katai Dera, after breaking their locks. The cases were investigated meticulously by ASI Sanjay Yadav and SI Devesh Raj Singh, whose sustained efforts and thorough investigation led to the successful prosecution of the accused.

The Hon’ble Court sentenced the accused, in each case, to 06 months’ imprisonment for the offence under Section 380 IPC and 06 months’ imprisonment for the offence under Section 457 IPC, along with a total fine of ₹5,000/-

This conviction reflects the commitment of North & Middle Andaman District Police towards professional investigation and effective prosecution, while further strengthening public confidence in the criminal justice system.
