Nicobar Police Conducts Swift Anti-Narcotics Raid in Campbell Bay

Campbell Bay, Sept. 9: On 08/09/2026, acting on credible information, a raiding team headed by Insp. Mithun Kirtania, SHO, Police Station Campbell Bay, along with police personnel of Police Station Campbell Bay, conducted a swift and significant anti-narcotics raid. The operation was carried out under the direction of Shri Samuel Fred, SDPO, Campbell Bay (DANIPS).

During the course of the search, one suspected cannabis plant was found planted in a pot kept in the residential premises of the suspect.

Upon this, a case was registered under Section 20(a)(i) of the NDPS Act, 1985, against the accused, Shri Manoj Kumar, R/o Joginder Nagar, Campbell Bay, who was arrested on the spot. During preliminary questioning, the accused admitted to cultivating the cannabis plant in the premises of his residence.

The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Shri Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District. This successful seizure highlights the steadfast commitment of Nicobar District Police to combat illegal drug activities and ensuring drug free islands. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the seized contraband and any other associated networks.

The general public is once again urged to immediately hand over any suspicious items found along the seashore and to surrender any contraband recovered from the sea at any Police Station under Nicobar District. No legal action will be taken upon voluntary surrender.
