Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 10: The EIACP Centre on Island Biodiversity, Zoological Survey of India, Andaman and Nicobar Regional Centre will organize a Drawing Competition on 12th September 2026, as part of celebration of World Ozone Day. The World Ozone Day known as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer will be observed on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. This annual global event marks the 32nd observance and commemorates the signing of the historic Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987. As a part of celebration, ZSI organize drawing competition with the theme “”Global action for a cooler planet – Celebrating 10 years of sustainable cooling under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol.
The drawing competition will be held on 12th September 2026 (Saturday) at ZSI. Interested students, research scholars, teachers are requested to report at 9:30 AM, and the schedule of the competition is 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This initiative aims to create greater awareness among students and the wider community about the vital role of the ozone layer in protecting life on Earth and the importance of collective efforts towards a healthier, safer and cooler planet.
