Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 20: In an initiative for rural development and public infrastructure, Dr. Apurva Sharma, Director of RD, PRIs & ULBs, A&N Administration, as chief guest, inaugurated the newly constructed Bus Stop at Ward No. KP-01 on Sept. 19, 2026. Built at an estimated cost of Rs. 7,87,621.00, this essential facility stands as a major step forward by Directorate of RD & PRIs towards providing safe public transport infrastructure for rural communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Director emphasized the Administration’s commitment to strengthening Panchayat infrastructure, improving rural connectivity, and ensuring inclusive facilities for all sections of society.
The inauguration was held in the presence of Dr. P. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Kanyapuram, Shri. Shamim Ahamed, Panchayat Samiti Member, Shri. P. Mohammed Ali, PRI Member, and Smti. Reshma, PRI Member. The event also witnessed key support from Ms. V.K. Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member, Hope Town, Smti. Rasheeda, Pradhan, GP Hope Town, and Shri. K. Venket Ram Babu, Pradhan, GP Wimberlygunj, along with the elected representatives/PRIs of Gram Panchayat Kanyapuram and gathering of villagers.
The Bus Stop is equipped with designated features and special arrangements for persons with disabilities, guaranteeing obstacle-free travel for every citizen.
Following the inauguration, the chief guest led a green drive by carrying out tree plantation under the nationwide ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign as part of the ongoing “Swachhata Hi Seva” movement.
