Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: The ANC Silver Jubilee Half Marathon 2026, organised by the Air Force Component under the aegis of Andaman & Nicobar Command, culminated successfully at Sri Vijaya Puram today, with over 1,500 participants taking part across various categories as part of the celebrations marking 25 years of the Andaman & Nicobar Command.
Vice Admiral Vineet McCarty, AVSM, CINCAN, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and flagged off the races. He also felicitated the winners and outstanding performers at the conclusion of the event.
The event featured 21 KM Half Marathon, 10 KM Run and 5 KM Run, with participants competing across various age categories. Defence personnel, families, sportspersons, fitness enthusiasts and members of the civil community participated enthusiastically, making it a vibrant celebration of fitness, endurance and sporting spirit.
In the 21 KM Open Category, Anish Majhi emerged victorious with a timing of 01:09:10, followed by Iswar Dutt Joshi, who clocked 01:10:40.
The event witnessed an inspiring display of endurance, determination and sportsmanship, bringing together Service personnel and the island community and reinforcing the strong bond between the Armed Forces and the people of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
