Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 13: A one-day conference of UT Level Officers and Principal Census Officers under the Chairmanship of Shri Gyanesh Bharti, IAS, Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration for Phase-II of Population Enumeration under Census 2027 was held yesterday in the Conference Hall of Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Senior Officers of the UT Administration; Deputy Commissioners of all three districts of the Union Territory and other Officers associated with census activities.
Shri Jaspal Singh, Deputy Registrar General specially arrived from New Delhi for participating in the conference on behalf of the Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner. Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Director of Census Operations, A&N Islands gave an elaborate presentation on progress of Census 2027 in the Islands.
The conference focused on the administrative preparedness, deployment and training of Enumerators and Supervisors and field-level coordination for effective monitoring of Census 2027 activities. During the conference, special emphasis was laid on ensuring comprehensive coverage of all inhabited areas, including remote islands while maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of census data.
