Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 16: The valedictory function of the five-day Capacity Building Training Programme for Identified Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Mentors (Primary School Teachers) was held today at Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram. The programme was organised by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan DIET, Garacharma, under the NIPUN Bharat Mission, with the participation of 111 Primary School Teachers of all nine educational zones.
The training programme aimed to enhance the professional competencies of FLN Mentors and equip them with effective pedagogical strategies to guide and support teachers in improving foundational learning outcomes at the primary level.
Smti. Archna Singh, Principal, Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram, graced the occasion as the chief guest. She highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for teachers and collaborative efforts to improve the quality of school education. In his address, the Principal, Dr. S. R. DIET emphasised the need for necessary changes in teaching and learning practices at the foundational stage.
Over the five days, the programme provided a platform for professional learning, experience-sharing, and reflection on effective classroom practices. The participating teachers engaged in various learning activities designed to strengthen their understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy and enhance their capacity to mentor fellow teachers.
