A&N Police Motorcycle Rally Team Spreads ‘Fight Against Drugs’ Message Through Student Interactions and Public Awareness Activities

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 18: The Andaman & Nicobar Police contingent participating in the National Motorcycle Rally–2026 has been consistently engaging with students and local communities to spread the message of “Fight Against Drugs”, with a special focus on motivating young people to stay away from drug abuse and contribute towards building a drug-free India.

The rally commenced from Marina Beach, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on 14 October 2026, as part of the nationwide initiative associated with the forthcoming celebration of National Unity Day in Gujarat on 31 October 2026. The rally aims to promote national unity, social responsibility and public awareness against drug abuse.

Throughout its journey, the Andaman & Nicobar Police team has actively participated in awareness activities and interacted with students, educational institutions and members of the public, ensuring that the message of a drug-free society reaches diverse sections of the community. On 16 October 2026, the team reached Hyderabad, Telangana. On 17 October 2026, the contingent interacted with students at the University of Hyderabad and IIT Hyderabad, emphasising the importance of making informed choices, resisting peer pressure and recognising the harmful physical, psychological and social consequences of drug abuse. The team subsequently proceeded from Hyderabad to Humnabad, Karnataka.

Continuing its awareness campaign on 18 October 2026, the team interacted with students and local residents at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vidyalaya, Maharashtra. These interactions provided an opportunity to motivate students to pursue their educational and personal aspirations, adopt a healthy lifestyle and become responsible citizens who actively contribute to the fight against drugs.

The consistent participation of the Andaman & Nicobar Police contingent in awareness programmes throughout the rally reflects its commitment to taking the anti-drug message beyond the roads and directly engaging with the younger generation. By connecting with students and local communities, the team seeks to encourage positive decision-making, strengthen awareness of the dangers of substance abuse and inspire young people to become ambassadors of a drug-free society.

The rally, linked with the observance of National Unity Day on 31 October 2026, also underscores the importance of collective action, solidarity and shared responsibility in addressing social challenges. The Andaman & Nicobar Police appeals to students, parents, educational institutions and members of the public to work together in preventing drug abuse and safeguarding the future of the younger generation.

The message remains clear: Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life! Drug-Free India, Strong India!
