Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 27: The ‘Janta Darbar’ or Public hearing at Raj Nivas (now Lok Niwas) has been a regular feature, which was hosted by the past Hon’ble Lt. Governors, A & N Islands. These citizen centric sessions were greatly beneficial for poor people as their genuine matters or grievances were getting proper attention and immediate solution from the concerned officials or departments. In true sense ‘Governance for the people’ was evidently visible. But ever since Admiral D K Joshi, the last Lt Governor, for unknown reasons, discontinued the conduct of Public Hearing program. People were unhappy.
As soon as Dr Dinesh Sharma, Hon’ble Lt Governor, took charge, the State President, Shri Anil Kumar Tiwari, persuaded him to restart the discontinued Public Hearing program. Taking the suggestion positively, the Deputy Commissioner, has published press communication informing that ‘Janta Darshan’ will be held on 30th October.
Shri Anil Kumar Tiwari has expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Lt. Govermor for considering to start the public hearing again. He has further opined that the Janta Darshan program will greatly benefit the islanders in getting their genuine grievances solved
