Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 2: Andaman & Nicobar Command extended a warm welcome to SLNS Gajabahu (Sri Lanka) and UMS King Aung Zeya (Myanmar) on their arrival at Sri Vijaya Puram for the maiden BIMSTEC Maritime Security Exercise, being conducted from 30 October to 03 November 2026.
Hosted by the Indian Navy, the exercise brings together maritime partners from the Bay of Bengal region to enhance interoperability, strengthen collective Maritime Domain Awareness and foster coordinated responses to transnational maritime threats.
The exercise underscores the shared commitment of BIMSTEC nations towards regional cooperation, maritime security and stability, reflecting the spirit of Shared Sea, Shared Security, Shared Prosperity.
